Popular Post steven newman Posted March 11, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted March 11, 2024 With all the stress going on here, then my Daughter brings all 5 of her kids to the house to "clean things up"....IF I had stayed at the house any longer Friday...it would NOT be very pretty...lets say Day 2 on Paris Island....yeah, THAT level....decided to just grab a coat and hat, a mountain dew zero, and take a long drive....Just some "Me Time" away from everybody... Bypassed the store in Urbana, OH. , already shopped that one out....headed on south to Harmony, OH. to visit Heart of Ohio Antique Center....and look for items the shop DOESN'T have..found 2 items...then drove over to Titus Road...to Springfield Antiques....and found 2 more items... 3 out of the 4.. A very small block plane....a Stanley 4" square, and a Stanley No. 66 with a cutter and a fence...the "4th" item? $10 for 10 dies...the one that you can almost read the size on? a 12- 24, there is a #8-40 in the mess, too. The Beader Plane? Came from this case...Stanley #45 with 2 boxes of cutters...$195...the stripped down version of the #66 was $85+Tax...mine was $70... The ring of dies came from here... Which is the backside of.. But wait, there is more...look up just a tad.. Top half...walk around this and into the stall... Have to watch where you step.. The old guy that has this booth, also has a second one...about 5-6 booths away.. This wall is at the end of Building #8...then do a "Right, Face!" And then a Half Right, Face!" Name a hand tool..and there is a very good chance it is either here, or back at the other one..one shelf is loaded with molding planes, some plain... And some a bit fancier... Popular Post steven newman Posted March 11, 2024 Author Popular Post Report Posted March 11, 2024 Outside of one booth...building #5, I think...had this sitting out by the aisle.. Not sure what was in that barrel... Turned to the right.. Everything you would need to start a Blacksmith's shop? Price on the bigger Anvil.. Tain't cheap.... Needs the vise.. The dish is a Forge, with a blower underneath..and all kinds of hammers and tongs.. BTW..I found this over at Springfield Antiques.. A Whizzer for a Geezer? And..one of these things.. You think somebody was on the ball? That's about half of the pictures... Let me know IF you want to see the rest.. Gene Howe, Cal, aaronc and 7 others 6 2 2 Quote

Popular Post steven newman Posted March 13, 2024 Author Popular Post Report Posted March 13, 2024 Before you make the turn into the Mechanic's tool haven... Other "sights" to see.. Big teeth, little saw.. $50 Backsaw? Methinks the Froe has seen better days.. You MIGHT want to wear a pair of Kevlar gloves..BEFORE you go digging around in thar.. Well, IF you need parts for a combo square, or just the square itself....Plane behind it? Made to do Crown Moldings...wood, or Plaster.. Beware of dark corners... And watch your step...there ain't a whole lot of room in some of these booths.. As for this little plane....from New Haven, CONN....it has been cleaned up.. Iron is now sharp...about the same size as a Stanley 102? Maybe? Those Dies? Wire ring has been cut away...a few spots cleaned up....Die Holder will arrive tomorrow...these are 3/4" diameter dies...and the holder needs at least 2 set screws. Trying not to post ones I already did...Morris would go Bankrupt in these 2 places....they would have to kick him out at closing time ( 1800 hrs, most days..) Artie, Fred W. And I test fitted one of those small dies into the holder.. 8 x 36 NF thread...had to drive the die into the holder, and then tighten things down.. Backside of the holder....Need to build a case to hold this and the 10 Dies... Gerald, Grandpadave52, HARO50 and 2 others 5 Quote
