February 23, 20242 yr Popular Post I just discovered this forum. I taught high school for 42 years (Industrial Arts, Technology Education) and would have kept going but all the woke nonsense made me decide I had enough. Retirement has been great especially now that I have two grandsons. Also, having time to work in my shop has been great. I have already refurbished several pieces of equipment and currently I'm working on a Delta Homecraft lathe. Having time to get back into furniture making is also great. When I was in my senior year of high school and into college years, I was given the opportunity to work with Louis A. Irion, III in Paoli, PA. They did high end furniture and reproductions and I learned a lot in those years with him. Now I'm enjoying retirement and having time for things I love to do.

February 24, 20242 yr Welcome @prockey Philip to The Patriot Woodworker. Great to have you on-board. Enjoyed reading your introduction. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your projects. FWIW and full disclosure, I'm "woke" most of the day especially if I happen to have a fresh coffee and donut. Speaking of donuts, new guy always brings donuts. Your day is tomorrow. Just leave 'em in the break room. We'll take it from there.
February 25, 20242 yr Welcome aboard, glad to have you here. Looking forward to your participation and pics.

February 25, 20242 yr Author Popular Post Here's a couple pics of some of my work. I was fortunate to have been able to work with Louis A Irion III in PA while I was in college and learned a lot in those years. He got out of the furniture making work quite a few years ago and now sells high end lumber, in Wellsboro, PA. Lots of great memories.
