Background---I've been "tasked" with restoring a kitchen knife that a neighbor's deceased husband gave her.

The rivets are either broken or worn out.  Scales are ok.

 

So I'm asking if you have a preferred vendor for the rivets 

 

and

 

what do I need to know when I order some??

size? Diameter/length?

material? Stainless?

 

Also how do I attach them? Just peen them over or do some screw together?
