October 28, 20232 yr Popular Post Since the fairs I was going to do I had some time on my hands, cnc speaking. So it being Halloween and I wanted to playing around with epoxy and I have a 12.6 tapered ball nose bit I wanted to finally use. Grabbed a piece of scrap wood. Downloaded the Jack Skellington picture. Converted it to a .bmp file and imported into Vectric software. Did a .bmp trace to convert into vectors. First tool path was .02inch deep circle (face) with 0.25 down cut end mill bit. Sealed the wood. Poured the white base coat. Went out of town as always for work so had 4 days to cure. Next time for eyes, mouth, and eye brows. For the eye I used a 1/8 compression bit, and for the eye brow and mouth I used the 12.6 tapper ball nose with a start depth of 0.04 and flat depth of 0.15. I wish I would have used 0.19 depth. Poured the black epoxy went to work somewhere so another four day cure. Used the 1/8 compression bit to cut out the project. While sanding with 120 grit a couple of chips occurred. It was a fun little project….

October 31, 20232 yr Author haha...Well yeah! Wouldn't you? I mean come on! I have an inlay I need to do for an walnut end grain cutting board. I am thinking of doing a practice this weekend. Female portion is going to be about an hour 45. I just want to be sure I have the numbers correct before cutting into the cutting board. haha....
