October 24, 20232 yr Popular Post comment_323003 Since I was out & about this morning...dropped the Boss off to do her things..and drove over to buy a bit of Hardwood... Craftsman Chrome Edge saw was a bit too dull...and...I had 10 planks to cut down to fit in here.. Fun part was hauling all of these INTO the house when I got back home ....with the Boss.... There is a bit of "Live Edge" on a couple planks....and this fancy grain on a few others Ten 1 x 6 x 10' planks...plus a couple thinner things, that he threw in with this pile..Price? $30.00 All stacked up...23 planks..might take a while to get through all of them? November Project? Full sized, 4 or 5 drawer Chester Drawers...to replace a very bad one in the bedroom. May use "half" drawers for the top drawer spot.. Ice Cold Guinness Extra Stout to cool me back down...I am plumb tuckered out.. Stay tuned.. Report

October 26, 20232 yr Author comment_323042 Plan right now? A full sized chest of drawers....drawers to be 29" wide, by 16" front to back....Sides to be 41" tall by 16"wide...Frame & Raised Panel. First order would be to build the side panels...then the web frames to connect the sides....then build the (5) drawers...all the while a Top is relaxing off to the side....MIGHT even get a bread board ends? Do I post the Build Along here, or start it's own thread... Edited October 26, 20232 yr by steven newman Report
October 26, 20232 yr Popular Post comment_323044 That's a nice haul. I might even build a boxspring platform if I had a supply like that! Report

October 28, 20232 yr comment_323170 30? Dang it! I bought on 12 ft 4 quarter yesterday for 25.00. Congratulations on the successful grab and go! Report
October 28, 20232 yr Author Popular Post comment_323190 Ash does warp a bit..just not as bad as Oak. Planks were air dried and stickered for about 10yrs...so these should be fairly stable..though the ends can be a bit of a problem.. And the worst warpping is usually at any knots...easy enough, work around the knots. Report
October 28, 20232 yr Popular Post comment_323209 Thanks for the heads up! Going to use it as an inlay. Already turned into an end grain lol Report
