Came home from Minnesota with a few Ash live edge 2" thick slabs.  Cut one in half and will make two of these.  The bark on this piece was loose on one side so I cut it square to either sit flat or can hang on a vertical surface.  Will "paint" the top bark with thinned tite bond and then poly, leaving the wood natural.  This should ensure the bark stays put for quite a while.  The other piece has tight bark on both sides -  so will use the process on both.  Wood part is about 12 x 15 at the smallest corners.

Man, the grain really pops on that:TwoThumbsUp:.

Pretty amazing HJ.  In all my years of woodworking I've encountered bullets and barbed wire and bugs and rot, but never found a deer hiding in the wood.  ;)

Beautiful piece John. Great score on the Ash. Worth the trip.
