July 24, 20232 yr Popular Post A friend asked me to fix a plaque he was making for his son who is retiring from the Navy soon. Suffice it to say he made a soup sandwich of the plaque but knew where he could get it corrected. Not a big deal so I knocked it out quick like and got it back to him. He kept asking what I would charge him for it but I kept trying to put him off. Then he asked if I wanted some wood he had from a previous project that he was never going to finish. Is the pope Catholic? This was a mostly pre-cut kit for a sewing machine cabinet. All nice 3/4" red oak and cabinet grade 3/4" red oak plywood. There's a few pieces of 1/2" birch ply and some other little stuff. I repeatedly told him he was getting the short end of the stick on this deal but he insisted that I take it off his hands. Okay. If you repeatedly insist! I'll have to figure out how to get some of it back to him in a different form. I almost ran out of places to stash it.
