crate chair?

Anyone ever built a Gerrit Rietveld Crate Chair?  They have always intrigued me but I don't know how practical or comfortable they might be.   I had to fix a red and blue Rietveld (reproduction?) chair once and it did not look that comfy.

With steep seat angle and back the first two will seem comfy for the initial sit down.  Being wood planks they ultimately feel like sitting on flat hard boards.

Often a furniture design gets "famous" for only it's aesthetic impact.  Enough different from standard fare that they make good magazine covers.

The world of cane and straps and springs foam and such in chair seats is where comfort on the tush is sought.  Always ends up covered with upholstery or cushions.
