Wow, I'm not sure most of the world needs this.  I think I'll stick with my Stanley #4.

Before I acquired hand tool skills it was a possibility, but not likely now.

Hmmm.... $229 at Home depot.  $199 at Acme tools and Tool Barn and Ace. $246.20 at Grainger  $390 at Amazon.

If it had a way to attach and came with a side fence I might have added it to my Milwaukee collection.  Clearly there are sources out there that don't price compare what they are selling. At least one of those that sells it for $199 even had a 15% off coupon code you could add to bring the price down even more.

Onsite finish carpentry, it would be very handy. I used to install doors, I always had a porta planer on hand, relied on it greatly. Being battery operated this would be a great addition to any door installers tool box. Mine was corded, and I'd get in a rush with a house full of doors and sometimes the cord would hang up on the opposite end of the door and yank my planer back or sideways. It was another thing to have to watch that would take my mind off the work at hand, I would have loved this planer when I was doing doors.
