May 24, 20233 yr One of my honey-dos was to clean the lint out of the dryer vent. The dryer is basically in the front of the house, next to the garage, but the vent runs out the back. It goes thru the wall, has a double elbow, runs about 3', then another double elbow, All to get around plumbing lines, HVAC ducting, etc. Then it runs about 20' out to the exterior wall. It all seemed to go OK, but then I ran the dryer on air, and not much was coming out. So it took it apart at the exterior wall. And boy, what a mess as none of the metal piping wanted to go back together. Took about an hour or more fussing around. I was about ready to go buy some PVC piping Finally got it all together, ran the dryer again and seemed to be working OK. Went outside and there was about 1/2 cu.ft. of lint on the ground. I thought I'd brushed and vac'd the whole line and had a whole bunch in the shop vacuum. Ugh. Not a fun time.
