Next picture is before I rubbed the bird down with 0000 steel wool with Johnson's paste wax. First I rubbed down the outside and left the bird with a shine, don't suit me yet till I had rubber the bird down. And last picture with no rubbing, nothing, but I did use Matte Rust-o 2X, sanding with 180 before spraying. If a person removes all the scratch marks, the ones going across the grain, Matte is great for it lays on good and covers lots ruff up and down sand marks.. Matte makes a poor wood worker look good.

And I still had wood not used left over from making the bird. I run the board through the drum sander a few times to get the outline of the bird up about 1/16" about the outside the running the electric sander just a little leaving lots of drum sanding grouves.

I told wife I took a picture of the prettiest humming bird I had ever seen but it was flying so fast all I got in the picture was his outline.!!!???

  I have found for all those different colors I save all the coke cans for small amounts of paints and epoxy use. This only took one drop of each color so shuck the cans for I have more for next time.

 

 

 

 

This is a pattern for stained glass folks enlarged to fit the wood I had ready for something???.
