And the guy that ordered the stained glass wanted the pretty ash darker.20230309_114404.jpg.c2d10eb6d40752360a4aebee7e6d0267.jpg20230313_104226.jpg.0d498fed775377cc54a3550eb8fd00e5.jpg

Ash is so easy to work with, my favorite!

Beautiful work by both of you Patch. Customer should be quite happy.

Turned out nice although my eyes like the ash unstained better.  Oak takes stain pretty well and if I know up front I'm after a dark brown stained finish I'll use it. I like ash either clear finished or ebonized black.  Nicest result I've had to date was a mix of ebony and dark walnut stain on ash for a warm dark black.

I use an air brush to apply the stain so I don't have to worry about blotching but the rattle can of 2 X is the top coats.

 I spent some terrible times close to Manhatten in my younger years. This was just before I spent 8 days and nights on an ocean cruise towards Germany.

Close to Manhattan would have been Fort Riley. That is unless you were talking about Manhattan NY.

Yep, Kansas and even though that was a terrible experience I'm glad it was not in New York. I might have spent all my time in the brig being in NY.

Great looking job for the both of you

Excellent! :Praise::Praise:

As already stated, great work by you and Mrs. Smallpatch.   Danl

Sweet Jess.
