Popular Post knockonit Posted January 4, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted January 4, 2023 well today is work on equipment day, my old delta 12 inch table top, which i use for small stuff, either needs some roller cleaning or, major maint. so i've watched about every video in regards to taking apart, diagnosing and putting back together, we will see what happens, i d have a large 15 inch monster, and believe me its a monster, although i should have kept the 20 inch and now regret that decisions. anyhowz, it needs oil changed also, so............lets make a big ugly mess today, if i can find the right oil for the change out, either way the planers gonna get a clean up ect. also a new belt on drill press, old one is frayed, i have keep a spare for those items, as i do for the uni saw. the cnc, i finally got the dust collectoin stuff from the vendor, a two hundred dollar set up, and no instructions on connection to router, they do mention to look on line for install, uh how difficult can a pc of paper be to provide. oh well, i will say xcarves personal customer service has been awesome and when they make an appt. to go thru your issue its prompt and on time and so far every resolution has been accomplished. shop gets a clean up and prep for a big push to get some boards and new ideas out. i still need to get chop saw bench and cabts. built, with the holidays passed, i'll get some time, but other issue, is i'm a shooter, and well reloading, shooting and reloading takes time, oh being retired is being busier than working happy hump day, hope the weather keeps all as happy as possible, rj in az Gerald, lew, Artie and 3 others 6 Quote

Sounds like retirement is working out well so far since you're already wondering how you ever had time to work before. Doesn't pay as well but you don't have to share your donuts or coffee either. Popular Post knockonit Posted January 4, 2023 Author Popular Post Report Posted January 4, 2023 the bench top delta was okay, rollers were caked with guacamole' , so tore it apart, cleaned all the gears, relubed gears, waxed bed, and pillars along with main guides, sweet as butter, also did some test runs, yeehaw, smooth as silk, gonna have to get stronger to get drain plug outta other unit, have a compadre coming over tomorrow to maybe assist, might take most of day as i replenished the barley pop today, hmmm, maybe hide it, lol so figured out why the belt on drill press is frayed, wrong type, was too wide for pulleys, replacement sure fit better, so we'll see. managed to assemble 13 bundles of wine barrel staves, as i hvae them for sale on offer up, amazes me how many folks use them, decided to get rid of my older metal lathe and cabinet, used it for some of my gun s mithing, but think i'll farm it out from now on. need the space, slowly fingering out the flow, well for now. happy humper rj in az Gerald, Cal, Fred W. I've managed to get a shower, drink second round of coffee, ate a donut, cleaned the litter box 2x, let the dog out/in twice and either the clocks jumped ahead an hour or I may have dozed off Strongly considering walking to the mailbox once I rest up a bit. Popular Post knockonit Posted January 4, 2023 Author Popular Post Report Posted January 4, 2023 rofl, well in confidence i did have some assistance, ole gal was pointing the way, shes off getting the youngsters dog to go out as they went snow boarding today, gonna bring back a sandwich or something to munch on and then i'm a gonna rest up. hheeh, don't wanna over do it, if suns out its nice and toasty, but when the cloud cover takes it away, a might on chilly side, can' decide if a jacket or vest is best. shop was 58 degree inside, not too bad, no wind made it palatable, yeah a snack, and do some contemplating with me eyes shut Rj in az Cal, Grandpadave52, Gene Howe and 3 others 6 Quote
