My middle size mallet has been looking pretty sad so it was time to use up some scraps and make a new one. The top is two cutoffs of black walnut and the handle is made of white oak I rescued from the stack of firewood.

    Chiseling, setting spur drives and a small mallet for setting plugs.

    I do like the look of what you have done. I so round on the lathe but my workbench mallet is squared. The one I use on lathe when It gets rough I just turn all that rough stuff away.
