flowers for my carving

The only thing I added color to was to the flowers.

I found this picture over on another site and since I'm kinda in to flowers it got my interest up real quick..20221210_101351.jpg.05693905ac59234a34fc1cc7b519310e.jpg

The picture is all blurry and my printer was running out of ink so I had to trace where I thought I needed to scroll saw in to smaller pieces so I could hold them in my hand while grinding the unwanted wood away.

This is the picture I traced out then scroll sawed on the lines. My pretty boots.

I ended up with 32 pieces of maple in this puzzle not counting the flower petals.

Only the flowers got a little color added.

Next picture is where I made little cups and lowered the insides of them so the petals would have a raised ridge to start

laying the petals while the glue sets up.  Then if the flower didn't come out good enough to suit me I could remove that flower and try making a better one. But thankfully they were all accepted on the first try!!!

I could remove the inside piece of wood and using the band saw cut some of the top off so it would set down enough to leave a slope for the petals to lay on. Clear as mud huh?20221130_115257.jpg.2f83e42fed8f1a8cbc8fb746ecf5a824.jpg

More, Jesse....more!

That came out beautiful! :)
