More Tool Boxes

Before I start the next room remodel I decided to build a couple of new tool boxes for under the drill press. I’m using up the remainder of my poplar stash.

How big a shop area are  you working with?

It’s a 3 car garage. It’s a little deeper than a normal 3 car. I think it’s about 1100 sq ft.

It just looks like it's shrinking fast..

I spent years collecting. Now I try and find things to throw away.,

I believe I have 600 Sq ft. And you can park one sideways and two more as its a deep garage. It's full from woodworking...

My shop was a mechanic shop. At least, it was full of car parts when we looked to buy the property. But, the concrete floor has no oil stains. there's  a 10X10 roll up door and, a man door on one end. It's only 20X40. The shop up north was around 400sq. ft. bigger plus, the lumber was stored in another building. Now, it's  in the shop.:(

This shop is maxed out at this point. It is by far the smallest shop we have ever had but I also will never have anyone but me working in it. No employees in the shop is nice but also has a few drawbacks. Since this is our last house and won’t be sold until we are not able able to live in it there is no longer any rush to get anything done. I am really enjoying that.

The last shop I worked in was 200,000 Sq ft.  Didn't take long to get filled. More you build for convienence, the more constricted it gets..

I'm banging my hips on the slider now because it was designed for a regular miter box. I need to push the work table out 6+ inches..

My shop advertises as a 4 car garage and at 24x36 is the largest I have ever had . With the Troy Built I bought for my son and turning wood recently acquired plus all that 12 foot oak can hardly walk.

Managed to get all the drawers done yesterday. Today I will hopefully get the drawer fronts on and start making the pulls.

Very nice Paul. A lot of usable storage in a compact area. Thanks for letting us follow along.

Super nice Paul!
