here a few pictures of my front door, pardon the crappy pic, much better builder than picture taker, but you will get idea.

42''x7ft x 2-1/4'' 

knotty alder, door carcass, with knotty alder tongue and groove, made with the old craftsman molding set, light stain with satin poly finish, frame work is also knotty alder with a red oak full width threshold. 

inside for main frame is a pc of 3/4'' marine grade plywood i used to attach the t&g to. about 11 years old, 4 bearing type hinges, and two ball catches on jamb side, so far so good, only moved a tad,
