Was killing time in HF this afternoon while wife was shopping nearby.  I could not believe this.   I am still wondering what practical (and safe) use it has.  Smaller than a breadbox.  6' cordimage.png.637045e9203bd693f3e20afe7d108e72.png

Crafting with Popsicle sticks?

I saw one of these buzz saws a few years ago. It had what appeared to be a sewing machine motor and went at a very high rpm. It did cut, it also burnt wood. My impression was that it could be very unsafe, if you weren't VERY careful. The saw was very light and moved too freely for my liking. My impression wasn't good and I concluded that a small hand saw was better and much safer.

HF sells some decent tools but, I'd steer clear of any that spin shiny discs with sharp teeth. :P

Reminds me of the old Dremel table saw.

They were popular with the model railroading community.

A model RR store near me sells Micro-Mark saws and other Micro-Mark tools. I'm trending towards smaller work but, those are a bit too small. Interesting, though.

I suppose that IF you are making small boxes...with thin boards......AND SMALL sized parts...

Does it come with a mitre gauge?

There are some operators out there, that just can't run any tablesaw without building a sled, first.    Others will turn their noses up because there is no Riving Knife....always a "deal breaker" to them....

"What do you mean...there is not sliding table?"

Rip fence?    Unable to mount an aftermarket T-2?

i have a friend who uses one to make his mini train outfits, he does this for quite a group, builds the train stations, houses, ect. also does quite a few re enactment locations, goes well,

says the little craft saw its easier to manipulate parts and claims it cuts quite well. he does some amazing stuff, he also did some stuff for movies back in the day for something called site ''panning'' making it look like the real thing, had me fooled, although mighta been that single malt he offered, not sure. lol
