It's been so dadgummed hot around here I haven't had any shop time for several weeks. Some guys I used to work with have a small taxidermy business and asked me to make up some euro mount plaques for the upcoming hunting season. They gave me a sample to follow and asked for three plaques from different woods.

 

These are what they're getting - 

 

 

Each plaque has separate arms to allow turning the oval to match what the customer wants.

 

These are hickory, black walnut and alder.

Man, they're nice! That alder looks a lot like cherry- love the color.

I'm guessing those will be big hits (no pun intended) with recipients. All are nice, but I really like the color of the alder. Bet you'll get more orders for those by the time the season ends
