August 22, 20223 yr Author Thanks GPDave. Not sure about "highly". The base does support the glass top but nothing else. I think of highly functional as capable of advanced functions like easily knocking down in to flat parts, or easily changing height, or maybe even changing color as the seasons change. The build technique could be stretched to make a matching coffee table or even a taller card table. All just starting with strips of plywood. 4D

Well those too, but I think highly functional as, will my coffee tumbler, tv remote, cell phone, tablet and lamp switch be easily reachable without me exerting much effort from my chair.

Must be a regional difference. My TV remote is just functional until the batteries get low. My cell phone's location is the reasonable attribute, but what it can do for me is highly valued and praised. perhaps too much given how brittle it is relative to other things. Comparing this parsons table design to a more functional/versatile design shows how it ranks on a functional scale. My "MulTable" table is a bit above highly on that scale: MulTable 4D
