picked these up locally as they are originally from the Buckeye state, fella on offer up had a few other pcs, but i had enough walnut

these are monster slabs, from 17'' to 20 '' wide two are over 94 inches  long with another at 80'' ,  ambrosia maple and its beautiful.

he also had 3 nice chunks two of ambrosia and one hard maple.

big deal is, now that i have them, gotta come up with something to make out of them, the really wide one may become a entry type table, if i can figure out some attractive legs for it.

happy tuesday from the land of ''dry heat''

WELL, OLE GAL and i have discussed an avenue for the large wide, split pc. its gonna get some butterfly pcs, to hold it together, not sure what wood to use for that, have a gaggle of exotics on hand, and figure out some sort of legs for it, am thinking it would make a nice entry console type table, any ideas would be appreciative, information and another perspective is always recipe for success.

as for the others, see what goes, not to find a flat spot to store the dang things, i'm a running outta room, the smaller chunks i'm gonna run thru my leveler jig and see how they look, may just end up being large chartuterie ie' spelling i always get that wrong, boards. lol

happy tuesday, what a nice warm day here in Az. only 109 , pretty sure a cold wave showed up.

Hair pin legs? Wouldn't detract from the beauty of the bow tied slab. Just a thought. Or, a couple of 3" wide frames of a contrasting, or not, wood. Similar to this. Mesquite top, walnut legs.

I was rumaging thru wood pile and found a 2x10 x 8 ft hunk of mahogany, might see how i can make these into legs, supports ect the length would require four legs, and most likely a stretcher, to me simple is elegant , so struggle is straight legs, something with a figure, curve, angle, tapered, hmmmm,

not in any hurry, still have dust system to try and finish this weekend, and a few other things, a filled the above boards with some epoxy, the big knot holes the large funny looking one kinda looks like an alien is parked in it, lol

any way, gonna explore some avenues, i have some hair pin legs for a few tables, but i'd like this one to be up high say about 32 to 34 inches, as its almost 18 inches wide, so..............all ideas considered, more the merrier.

happy thursday, good day to make some dust
