June 28, 20224 yr Popular Post 20 years ago I made a small multi wood & multi grain direction table. I made it in Ohio in very humid air. Then we moved to Colorado, land of dry aid. It came apart because of the shrinkage . I even found some construction biscuits that came apart. I’ve rebuilt it and it has taken most of 2 days. Now I wonder how long it will last here. It will probably outlast me
June 28, 20224 yr personal preference, i would have made the striped sections in a pinwheel fashion, not having their grain direction all the same (flip 2 opposite ones to get the effect).
June 28, 20224 yr Author I should also say that I made it out of the available wood I had in my shop. I also wanted to saw precise angles and make a unique piece. I had had not been retired long , had a new table saw and wanted to test it for accuracy. You can guess at the wood types.............I'd have to guess too Edited June 28, 20224 yr by Ron Altier add
June 28, 20224 yr There you are. Back together again. Looks great! Reminds me a little of a Dutch barn plaque design.
June 29, 20224 yr Looks like a specially designed patch for some large organization and it is captivating. Now the amazing part is with all the crossgrain how did it hold up this long?
June 29, 20224 yr Very unique. At times it is good to take a chance and see what it would look like and try something new. Thanks for sharing. Danl
