Knock Off Batteries

I've accumulated a decent collection of Ryobi, 18V, One+ tools either through new purchase, flea markets or auctions. I started the conversion a few years back when it become apparent Sears/Craftsman was going down the tube and my 19.2v platform would no longer be supported. Anyways, I purchased a few 19.2v NiMh replacements off the "bay" for less than 1/2 the cost of Craftsman, on sale at that time. Result: still going strong...IN FACT, far better than the Craftsman OEM ever were.

At same time, I purchased (4), 18v NiMh because that was the only charger I had at the time plus could buy 2 for less than one Ryobi. These continue to perform excellent.

As my Ryobi collection has grown (as many non-woodworking tools as woodworking), the conversion to LI-ion occurred. While I have several OEM batteries of different sizes, the need for more has arisen. Just received (2), knock-offs, 3.0 AH for far less than 1 OEM. Identical, latest greatest features. Chose the 3.0ah based on price, weight, size. Came fully charged but I topped off which took only a few minutes.

I'll keep you posted but well pleased so far with all my "knock-offs".  Can't rebuild yourself nor buy rebuilt for the price points. YMMV.
