I've owned these guys for at least two decades, and could never find out what the holes are for.  Suggestions?

The caps are gone. One hole for gas. Oil in the other.  And, you wondered why they wouldn't start. 

you broke the flux capacitor?  great, just great, now we're stuck in this timeline.....sigh.

The little pads on top are there so that plywood does not slip around.  Good idea, poor design.  Most of the pads for my saw horses are missing.

Mine came with some brackets that I haven't seen since I put them somewhere I would find them easily.  Don't remember what they were for.
