It's not a great 'Looker' especially with a chunk missing in the throat. With my internet connection down last night I started to work on it putting stripper on the handle and the bed to remove the red paint.

and this morning started the clean up

It's coming along Ok the worst I see is the low spot in the side and bottom ofd the body and the cutting edge of the blade is way out of square.

I didn't bother trying to get all the paint off the tote, all this plane will be is a user.

Sweet find & rescue "French". Looking forward to following your rehab of this one. Great to have another tool rescue junkie on-board too. Obviously you know by now there is no known treatment or cure for this condition?
