They must have removed those before I started driving them. I always seem to miss out on the interesting stuff. :(

dang, i had to go listen to that again...

I have to hear them several times every day. I have short flashbacks. Until I realize that I have options like turn on the SS just to have a good noise.:D

There are 3 airports within 10-15 minutes drive time from me. Plus, Davis-Monthan AFB is less than a hour's drive away. Then, there's the Tucson airport, too.  The GA traffic, including whirly birds, is considerable. We don't hear the passenger jets often. The military flights, depending on their training schedule, are frequent. Most of those are A 10s but, occasionally, we'll see the 'copters, too. Usually in formations of 3. The military acft noise are the sounds of freedom!

Several years ago, B-47 traffic over parts of Tucson was quite heavy. Some lady called the Base Commander, complaining about how low and loud they were. The commander asked if she could see the American flag on their tails. She replied that she could. The commander's response was classic. "Well" he said, "you should be damned glad, then".

When we moved here military training planes and copters were restricted from flying over densely populated areas. Then the population around the bases grew dense. So the military now flies where ever they wish including over hospitals. They fly whenever they wish. I have not been in the military since 1972 so take the war zone out where it should be and allow my freedom to be peaceful. When I in I had no objection as it was war and exercises. And I live 12 miles from the nearest base. I did give them 31.5 years on the base. No objection to noise and exercises. It is totally necessary. But to come over my home all hours of the night and day is NOT acceptable. If we are at war ok but this is all exercise. Take it elsewhere.

The sound of A-10s overhead is someone about to take a serious beating. You know, like when your Mother calls you by your full name.
