I purchased a couple sets similar from Menards several years ago for both my mother and MIL. Set them up to operate lamps from where they sat in the living rooms as well as bedrooms. They worked well. Mom passed almost 4 y/a and MIL over 6 now. I have MIL's set. Mom's set moved to assisted living "apartment" with my step-father this past August.

We have one like Keith's but the remote has 5 sets of keys, but only came with three plugs. Used in bedroom for sound machine and a lamp and I am not sure where the other plug is now. Great item

With my luck, I would be like the lady in the commercial who was trying to turn on the TV, and the garage door kept going up and down.  I won't say that I am quite a "techidiot", yet, but I seem to get closer to one every day.
