Getting next project on the drawing board

Featured Replies

This is in the thinking mode. The picture I am using is more than twice the size of the last clock I carved and it is a few inches larger than the capacity of the scroll saw this time so I might have to go outside to get my blood pressure back down to just being a few notches over normal and the weather man says Sat and Sunday will be the correct type of weather for cooling off. Sat night is set for 21 degrees so I might have to take my shirt off when outside and might have to keep the heater off when working inside.! Sometimes when things don't go as I had planned the lights go dim and my voice goes to a real high pitch.l  H1874276968_IMG_20211230_181430106largerdrawings.jpg.99a0b7c6d8122a19eadcbce4bd902363.jpg

I'm using the French curved set to fill in the tops of these pictures to have a continued carving look.

I'm getting better at that for I can see things needs to be changed or added before I finish a project but as of yet things don't go that easy when trying to fix those problems.

I have already promised myself I will stay calm and will not throw things at wife if she happens to walk in as I am having my temper tandrums.......if things don't go as I want....

But most of all I promised myself I will go by the pictures and carve both sides exactly the same as each other..

The only thing I need is a 1/2" piece of BB  large enough for the backer board which I think I am out of. I could splice some together but that's creating more effort to go to the final outcome?????

Those pieces of wood on the pictures are the weather instruments to go somewhere?

Just holding a few pieces of maple out past the top of the scroll saw while trying to stay on the line with the blade already has my arms aching and that's not even thinking of the wood being too long to go past the back side of the scroll saw. I  have invented ways to work around those problems and I will let you draw your own solutions as to how you would go about turning 25" of maple around a scroll saw top that is 20 inches from the blade to the metal on the back side of the scroll saw.

Looks like you are set to give 2022 a real challenge to start with Jess!
