Someone rounded over the drain plug getting it out and used a spark plug of the same thread size to cobble one up.

I would call that inventive but counter productive for what can be an easy fix.

It worked. 

 

If I had a rack tied up and wanted to move the vehicle while waiting for the part, yup I'd do it. Getting parts can be a hours long experience. 

 It's got to go here, it's the only part I've got left. 

It's a plug that does the job. Why not, as a temporary solution.

I'll bet it won't fire.

Probably a bit oil soaked. 

Maybe it's an oil warmer.  Winter is near.

Myself……I’d have to put a dummy wire on the plug………just because.

 

Sounds OK to me, as long as it's only a ground wire.

  For future reference, would the plug gap be the same as the rest of the plugs?
