September 27, 20214 yr As he applied the stain, it was obvious that the wood had oil or some form of lubricant. Those voids are obvious that the surface was not clean. Naptha is a good cleaner, but some lacquer thinner works very well as does toluene.
September 27, 20214 yr Author Popular Post To be fair, he did run an antique furniture restoration shop at least for a while. I saw a documentary on Hitler and Goebbels a few weeks ago. If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it. This is not the first time this guy has done a project with Polyshades. Back when I was refinishing, a builder brought me a bannister that had been pickled (white) and then gone over with Polyshades. It looked like someone threw up on it after eating a bowl of chili.
