Compact saw

Featured Replies

I have a little PC trim saw that is nice for smaller work. I can’t imagine the Dremel would be powerful enough for much other than hobby type things

It don't take much power to run that size blade. I have a battery type Dewalt that uses the same type blade and works great and its a 20 year old tool so yes I think a new model  Dremel would work okay.

These have been around for several years and as you state, they are wonderful plunge saws or trim saws for that board that is just a bit too long or doesn't fit just right.  It is not for ripping or breaking down sheets of plywood.  And, it can have a blade for masonry work.  Several brands make this and Harbor Freight jumped on this about 2 years ago.

IMHO, I trust the Dremel version much more.

Still better than this one, even if you did put the blade on the right way.

I have the PC version. I had to buy it for a specific job where nothing else would fit. Since then I have rarely used it. It is very hard to control and the cuts are pretty coarse.
