Mommy can switch faster than I can get a cup of coffee. I get the slow down.

My Mom made quilts for years, carrying on a long tradition in her family.

Those are going to make a really nice quilt.

My Grandmother made one for all the grandkids. Mine is in the closet, got a little mildew and it is falling apart too.

A nice linen quilt like that beats the store bought comforters hands down for warmth and feel.  I like the weight.

Phyl builds quilts. Both our boys, their wives and offspring, all her siblings (8) and many of their offsprings and a few friends have been recipients. And, of course, we each have two or three. She also quilts table runners, place mats and coasters. Have I ever built a quilt ladder...nope. She also does counted cross stitch. I have framed a few of those under glass. She rarely gives her cross stitch pictures away. Her most recent cross stitch is a rendition of the northern lights. It hangs proudly in the family room. She had it professionally matted and framed. $$$$!!!

One daughter use to do cross stitching and we have a few of the things she made hanging around the house but I think she traded her needles in for a cell phone! Maybe even started a travel agency?

Dan I think the back ground material under these figures is every day flower sack material. It would be hard to be more old fashion than that....If I remember correctly this was the material than use to make a person itch all night long!

You are funny! I still cross stitch every evening when I sit with the hubs. I even cross stitch when we fly!

There seems not a whole lot of souls up there in that airplane the pilot can preach to so his profession is on hold  while these things are taking place but I'm glad Terri you are not thinking about the ground and how far away it is from you but how long does it take to rip out all that stitching you make while trying to forget how far your feet are away from terra-firma.

Haha. We were on a little break from reaching the souls! How is your soul?

Where do I find it? Did Bailey tell you the size of the cake?

Phyl made a couple featuring the logo on a sack of Blue Bird flour. 1808094554_Bluebird2.jpg.3d1d67719962ffce2f02b937f09ba37c.jpg

I think Bailey sent it to Bernadette with the cake size and wanted to see what I come up with and with my wild thinking some of the thought might not be printable.  But I think the occasion is supposed to be a happy with smiles and a bite of some free cake that mom and dad will supply. So thats why Bailey is ordering a 6 foot tall cake????!

Ha! Not 6’! More like 12” + 8”. Mom will know.

My wife makes quilts, too.  I think she's up to 12 this year, not counting the group projects at the quilt guild.

And boy, I mis-read the subject line at first glance.
