to strengthen this tea pot body is not a run of the mill sawing!!! But it do make this thing stronger, so why not?1641476170_IMG_20210818_095544195Justgotthisteapottobeoutoftheclamps.jpg.3fdafb0472a2384f3d297d3642e5961d.jpg

I took two pictures, one was blurry and the other was not. Why did I save it?

I think if a person is gonna be a woodworker he needs to try every thing.

The alignment is perfect . I would be interested in seeing how you made the cuts.

Gerald for the 8 sided thingy I cut all the lengths and widths at the same time...then slant the blade to 22.5 degrees and set the fence so the blade just goes through the top of the board then when all 8 boards are cut on one side I bring in the fence just a smidgen to cut the angle on the other side.

I then straighten the blade and I use the table saw fence plus a straight one by as the other fence.1879563121_IMG_20210818_154520877cuttingslotsontablesawtojoinsidestogether.jpg.149607755e545429b50292536219cd23.jpg

I adjust both fences so my slot cut will be almost all the way to the right side of  the flat area of the 8 sides. I am leaving as much as I can when all 8 pieces are slotted I can still carve the outside all the way around with getting into the glued in slot and bb piece.  The board to be slotted in just laying there riding on both fences. I then use a clamp around each board to be slotted so fingers can be free and clear of the saw blade. I use these two sizes of clamps to push the boards through the saw blade. Don't forget to keep the clamp clear of the saw and fences.

I had no trouble cutting everything on the first thing but a couple of bobbles on the larger pieces and it won't show but will have to use some putty!!! Also I wax the zero clearance insert for more flat area to slide the wood pieces on. Also a sharp blade makes pushing wood through the blade much easier....1335279404_IMG_20210818_180031511Iusethesetwoclampsonthedifferentsizesofboards.jpg.3f3e0a32ffc0758b5edd7eab4dc964fc.jpg
