July 13, 20215 yr This is some Norton sticket sand paper I use to sell to the body shops but it was like in the 24.00 dollar range then.. This roll now is listed at 158.95 and its 3'' diameter. The rolls I have are 6" diameter so thinking I better get an armored car to haul it down to the safety deposit box at the bank for safe keeping. I just noticed it being advertised as I had just last week ordered some Norton sand paper...and within a few hours the adds start appearing all over the computer.

July 14, 20215 yr Author Popular Post Cal I only use the best sand paper I can find unlike the machinery for I have never bought the most expensive wood working equipment. This 3M #320 is the very best and longest lasting for what I use it on and that's in between coats of lacquer. It comes 2 sheets at a time and small sheets of those. I still use 0000 steel wool between coats but the 3m is not as messy... the grit stays on no matter how tight a person rolls it. It's like using a thin roll of rubber. Steel wool use to be the only thing I could get in tight areas with.
July 14, 20215 yr Popular Post When I was doing refinishing all the time, I bought a 50 pack of Sandblaster (AKA 3M 216U) in P400 (European grading, roughly equivalent to US 320 grit). I could refinish a whole dining table sanding between 3 or 4 coats of w/b finish and only use 1/4 of a sheet. It it gets dusty, just rub it off with your hand or a cloth. Also used when I needed to sand during touch-up. I think that pack of 50 sheets will last me the rest of my life. It's great stuff and available in smaller packs at most home centers.

There is an annoying home improvement business (Windows, doors, siding, roofing, gutters) that runs ads multiple times every day on the local news. They are always advertising "50% off now" or "buy one get one free!" That says to me, they just double their price so they can mark it down. As if the ads aren't annoying enough, they have not made any new ones in the last 18 months, so they run the same two ads over and over, probably 4 or 5 times every half hour. Their reviews are almost all one-star and people complain of high pressure sales tactics and high prices.
