July 7, 20215 yr Popular Post I made this seat embroidery hoop in 1982 and designed it to accommodate my wife's requests and to fit her body lap/seat/leg size. You sit on it and place your legs on each side of the base. I made it with 2 pivots and she used it for a while. There were some designs she didn't like. The big one was how the hoop hooked on, it was solidly glued in. This prevented other hoops from being used. The other was the length of the pivots. So what you see here is a prototype that I think will accommodate her requests. I didn't finish it and I will wait to see if she likes it after she tries it. I also reused most all the old parts and hardware. I may have to remake some parts or just toss it and start again.
July 8, 20215 yr looks good but i don't think that fastener at the base will feel good on the legs and you may want to make that base piece go up higher (unless that messes up the "length of the pivots").
July 9, 20215 yr Author Popular Post This is the final design, because she likes it. I've shortened, lengthened, removed parts, added parts and I finally have something she likes. Just got to clean it up and finish. It would be SOOOO much easier if we both spoke the same language. I don't speak crochet and she don't speak mechanical anything. "You said it would work better if that part was shorter" ........ "Shorter?? I meant longer" And so it goes. I'm still guessing after more than 50 years with her and I guess I always will
July 9, 20215 yr Popular Post Yes that communication barrier is a problem to jump over. She says she would like this or that or fix that. I go and do it and she says "I didn't mean right now".
