Briana Hine (Adopt a Warrior Family for Christmas 2020 Prayers Needed)

Featured Replies

Dear folks, I have been in contact with Mrs. Hine, the mother and wife of our 2020 Adopt a Wounded Warrior Family for Christmas project.

I was informed a couple months ago that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, at that time diagnosis and staging was kind of up in the air, and over the last few weeks we have finally gotten more precise information from the family and I feel it's time to offer up some prayers for Mrs. Hine.

Mrs Hine is scheduled for a double mastectomy on June 14, and she and her family will need all the help they can get. For now, I'd like to offer up this prayer to our friend Briana Hine.

"Please pray that the Lord Jesus Almighty heal my friend. Help God take away the cancers that are consuming her body. Help her to survive this, become stronger, and help spread the Lords love. Be with her family through this trying time. Help them to flourish in strength and understanding."

AMEN

Also, I have decided that a good portion of our current community fundraiser proceeds will be redirected to Briana's family to help provide meals during her recovery, we will order food for them to be delivered through their special portal created at:

Hi Everyone! This meal train is for Bree and her family. Many of you already know that our sweet Bree has been diagnosed with...

If you would like, feel free also to take up a day for the meal train and have food delivered to their home, even if you are a state away, you can participate in this, and order food locally to be delivered. If you do decide to take a time slot to have food delivered to the family, please let us know here which slot you took.

Thank you all for your prayers in advance, and your support.

We love you Bree! You'll get through this lady!

Bree, you are part of a group that cares for their own.  Please know that even though we cannot physically stand beside you as you walk this journey we can and will support you through our prayers.  May God’s Grace and healing guide you through these days.

I would like to call upon all of us to pray for Bree's recovery from this terrible disease, and for strength for her and her family as they travel this road.  Pray however you feel is appropriate, according to your personal beliefs.  Prayers do not belong to any one single religion, and the more that are offered up, then hopefully the better the outcome.  Not trying to preach, just offering my own prayers and best wishes.

UPDATE: copy and pasted from Briana's Facebook Page.

Update from pathology report at her appointment with the surgeon: 5mm of cancer was removed and over 75mm of precancerous cells (DCIS) were removed that was surrounding the malignant cells. Margins are clear. Essentially, Bree was very lucky that the invasive ductal carcinoma was diagnosed this year as her cancer is aggressive & fast-growing.

However, one of the lymph nodes tested positive for micrometastatic cancer. We are hoping this means that although the cancer has been detected in her lymph node that it hasn’t had the chance to travel anywhere. We will be finding out what treatment is recommended on Monday at her oncologist appointment.

Your prayers are appreciated as she continues on this journey

Oncologist stated Invasive ductile carcinoma was Stage 1B. No need for chemo or radiation since the double mastectomy was successful. The only treatment plan is hormone suppression to prevent re-occurrence since my cancer feeds off my estrogen and progesterone so I will be on hormone blockers for 7-10 years.

As of right now, I am cancer free!!! Oncologist mentioned I’m extremely fortunate to have caught this early because the tumor surrounding the cancer was 8 inches huge and if given even a few months from now, this could have been a completely different conversation!

Thank you for all your support, love, and prayers! I dodged an 8-inch bullet and I know it’s a miracle I caught this on accident!!

Folks, this is incredible news, let's all wish Briana and her family a wonderful recovery!

That is amazing!  What a privilege to be part of this story.

Words can't express what we all feel.  Folks, lets give thanks, in our own way, and be grateful that a member of OUR FAMILY has such great news.
