Tree stump surprise

We had an Aspen tree die and started to look like a hazard to blow over or just have limbs fall. Aspen is not a very hard wood and the trees here don't last much more than 15 years. We had the tree taken down and it left a sizable stump at the soil line. I got an idea for a flower stand and it came out good. I had some three quarters dowels from an old storage unit and I drilled 4 holes in the stump. I did as good as I could to get them straight. (My old Craftsman drill had a small level on the rear to drill straight vertical holes) Then I made a platform out of fencing and made a flower stand for my wife and she likes it a lot.

A great use of "found" material. Those flowers are gorgeous. You and your wife make a good team.
