Got Wood LLC, QUICK turn around on orders and decent cuts of material.

Featured Replies

So a week or so back I was looking around at different places to order blanks from.  The one I did eventually wind up going with was Got Wood LLC.

https://www.turningblanks.net/

They are located out of South Carolina.  I do believe the company is also Veteran Owned.  Definitely one company to support with business.  I do most ordering on line through a couple of companies for blanks.  Other times I just buy the off the shelf wood at home depot.  How ever the ordering process with these guys is painless.  Limited in length I found they only cut up to 12 inches I believe I could not find any lengths for 24 inches.  But that's good enough for mills and what ever else.

I ordered

2 Select Maple Wood Turning Black 3x3x12" at a cost of $8.25 each  $16.50

1 Soft Maple Wood Spindle Turning Blank 3x3x12" Cost $9.00 each

2 AS Wood Spindle Turning Blank 3x3x12" cost $9.00 each  $18.00

After all was said and done I spent about 43.50 on 5 blanks.  So not half bad for milled pieces.  The shipping was a bit pricey at 22 bucks but that's to be expected because of the weight of the box.  I placed the order as said on April 1st.  The next day the order was packaged and shipped out almost instantly.  Fastest turn around I've seen yet from any company that I've ordered from.  TO INCLUDE Cook Woods which is only about 5 hours drive south from me.  I received the package today April 7th.  So I think I will be continuing to do business with these guys for blanks when I'm not making them myself for pepper mill stock.  Given that I can spend 40 to 50 bucks plus shipping and come out with some nice material is a win win.  So if your looking for blanks I would recommend these guys.  They do have some exotic species.  I'm not sure why they were getting so many bad reviews on pages that I had come across but so far I've got nothing bad to say.  The blanks do come with the wax sealed ends.
