This is the care package that I made up for my classmate friend.  I hope this puts a smile on her face and some bounce in her step.  This was fun for me.  

 

 

 

Rolling pin made of scraps of cherry and pear.  Writing pens, one of pine, one of pear, and one of mahogany.  The ornament is mahogany.

Since the 'Smith' has been in my shop for almost 50 years, all my projects meet the criteria.

Thank you all.  I would love to be a fly on the wall while she unwraps these items.  I should have packed a camera on top and have it broadcast back to my cell phone.  Naw.  Just let her be happy.  She sent me some photos from our elementary school and so many of those children have gone to their rest.  It is very sad.  Another young man my age and almost the same name expired last week.  This is getting too painful but if I can give something to change their thoughts from sad to happy, that's what I'll do.
