and today carved this one while waiting on the wheels. And it will take at least two more days smoothing the wood.1141136423_IMG_20210323_192023985scrollsaweditoutyeaterdayandtodaycarvedit..jpg.5f6e224b255d193650b8bff8087ccb2e.jpg

Much faster than making a circle.

Now I'm almost done with both carvings. Much faster when the scroll saw cuts up the pieces so the small 1/8 and 1/16" grinding bits can get in around where regular carving can't reach so easy.

Now I find out it will be another week waiting on the wheels..A credit card company called my wife early last week and ask her if she used the card on some certain insurance co., she said no so they said tear up both hers and my card and they would send more cards. They said some lady had been using my wife's name and her card number and they were suspicious for she had used wrong addresses and things...so I checked if Ebay had accepted my card number and no I just thought I had purchased the wheels... so after ordering again the wheels have been purchases and so the wait  goes on...

That is the third time credit card folks have called my wife to tell her of others use of her name I think in a ten year period.....could be the same people.  I did get a call on my phone four or five days ago, I don't answer my phone and the recording said a border patrol agent had a person who has been using my credit card and I should call that officer and get it straightened out...and I expect who ever would be on the other end of the line would need lots of of things about me to make sure I was who I say I am.. Like a social security number and addresses   and all kinds of things....

My wife checks every day if any purchases show up on our cards. And I say if every one don't do that I just hope you got enough money for the thieves also...

I forgot to post the picture after typing that book long typing session.694368011_IMG_20210324_115851179workingonbothcarvingswaitingforawheel.jpg.5edfc90fb7a729c6ccc8760110395df4.jpg

These two came from the same exact pattern and there is all kinds of differences even though I set out to make both the same . This would be like giving the same pattern to 10 different carvers and they would all do different things to them.

I'm through with smoothing the wood, now the color?

Its hard to believe I got the two so much different and the difference is caused by not cutting both carvings in exactly the same places with the scroll saw!

The differences make each unique piece more uniquer. They're both great examples of your talent and expertise.

Well I'm hoping every one likes this color I added to the two pieces I'm working on. Next before the clear goes on I got to use some super glue for some natural weather cracks are widening.....I don't like to do anything to something like that until the color or stain or dye goes on for it will up set the finish and cause those things to show up big time specially if I use any type of glue for the finish likes to stay off of dried glue.

When I'm doing something like these two things I want them to look something that was built 100 years of so ago only  with a perfectly nice smooth finish for folks to run their fingers across and say, it looks as good as it feels.....then you know it was was worth doing !!!

The clear still has to be added then its, get a rope folks and hang em up. That line was just in a cowboy movie I just watched.1517595769_IMG_20210327_144015449thetwocarvingspicesesgottheirdoseofcoloring.jpg.c1bbf1e55a5b245dc001ac91139debad.jpg

Color??? This is maple wood so maple likes to receive any type and color or stain so yes it was 100 % cherry and enough to float the wood in for a while.
