February 16, 20215 yr Popular Post The by product of all this milling for the media room etc was all the leftover scraps which was taking over the shop. I hate to throw out wood scraps but there comes a time when it starts to take over the space. I decided to empty out the shop yesterday and put it all back by the shed. We are leaving for a few days to go to Monterey Ca for a visit and I needed to clean up the shop before leaving. It was more than I expected once I got it all in one place. The shop is stacked high in all the ceiling components and it was getting hard to move around. I will go back through it when we get back and cull out any walnut scraps that are usable for a large segmented vessel she wants for the entry way and then I’ll invite my neighbor over to take some of it for kindling for his pizza oven. Nice to get the shop back in order. Paul
February 16, 20215 yr Hey I could see some nice trivets and cutting boards in that pile, maybe even a rolling pin or peppermill. But yes I feel your pain as I have resorted to selling some tools and a lathe I am not using.
February 16, 20215 yr Popular Post Always saving scraps for someday. I purged this Summer while it was nice enough to sit out and burn it.
February 16, 20215 yr Popular Post I still remember when Matt Seiler moved his shop back home, he had 4 pallets with totes on top of them that were full of scraps...that he got rid of. I have quite a few, but nothing like what Paul has.
February 16, 20215 yr Popular Post I always shed a tear when my off-cuts turn into scrap. Like all of you, I just do not have enough shop space for all of it. Danl
