January 17, 20215 yr Popular Post I figure I got two weeks in about 25 sets of these things so I'm gonna sell them for 50 bucks and ear..... sounds cheaper one at a time. Italian Cypress cones and you probably won't ever find any more like these unless you go to Mars or somewhere else cause the first time I tried this last year they all fell to pieces but if a person got time to waste he can over come anything... The ones over on the right side are special order models so that jacks up the price way up there. These are all on the special drying rack so they don't give the Cypress virus to any one once they start wearing them. I noticed my wife sleeps in hers for fear of someone coming in and swiping them!
January 18, 20215 yr Author Ron, I have a jar full of seed if you want to grow some. Each cone has about 50 seed and I been climbing each tree and bringing in the cones before they open. Its the only way I have found to keep the cones from going into the rotten stage and falling apart.
January 19, 20215 yr Author Ron I got my fear of climbing when starting to work for the fire dept.. They had this thing with the 80 foot aerial ladder truck and with it sitting with the ladder straight up, new guys had to climb it, touch the top rung, switch over to the other side and come back down. Then they handed out this little badge, your job and or your life? Been retired for 41 years so I don't exactly remember what it said. And after Danl told me about his ladder miss fortune I do take all the precautions. I now use a sky hook Edited January 19, 20215 yr by Smallpatch
January 19, 20215 yr Popular Post Ron I got my fear of climbing when starting to work for the fire dept.. There is a fire dept about a block from my house. They conduct a monthly training on their huge ladder truck. From my window I can see two guys suspended up the full length of that ladder. 30 or 40 ft or more. THAT is as close as I want to be to going up that ladder Those guys are great and earn their money everyday.
January 20, 20215 yr Popular Post This reminds me of when I was going to paint our house the first time. A 1 1/2 story. I bought all the paint & brushes and an aluminum heavy duty extension ladder. Carried the ladder around to the back side of the house set it down and from the end, I couldn't pick it up! I guess I could have driven a stake in the ground to hold it and then from the other end walked it up, but that would have been a long drawn out process I thought. I found an out of work house painter to do the job and gave him the ladder as a bonus when he finished up. The next time the house needed painting I had vinyl siding installed
