I think I did a piece on these when I did my demo back in November and now have completed 4 more and given to the Widows in my Ministry. So enjoyed making these that since I now have a new woodburner can see making more. How do you keep the colors, on the rims, from migrating down into the "bowl?

The center is left unturned and the rim is turned sanded and stained. When doing this the rim is made wider than it will be in finished piece. Then turn out the center and get that sharp edge with a undercut.
