Turning colored pencils without epoxy

A bit to intense for me. I will stick to solid wood.

Very cool looking vase, but I hope the guy gets a good deal on the pencils. I think they're about $8.00 a set around here.

I might try a row or two mixed with other woods. But that many. Don't think so.

All of you echoed my thoughts on this project. I guess it was a "made for youtube" project. It certainly is beautiful, but something I will not do.

A one of a kind museum piece. Who would even try repeat this ? I wonder how many hours of labor went into this ?

That crayon color that was elongated during the turn is very soft material.  I wonder how long it will last, especially in a hot environment.  Otherwise, very interesting project and I really enjoyed the process and results.

The end result was pretty cool!  Is/was there a reason for not using epoxy on this project?

My question would be about the dust from the pencil lead. I'm not sure what they use for colored pencils but my guess is its not healthy. Beautiful piece though.
