There is a second depression just below the bullet that I think may be a another bullet.

How did the blade look afterwards?

Looks like a lead bullet which wouldn't ruin the blade.  Crazy how it is sliced almost perfectly in half.  I saw that once before.  I was using cedar lumber sawn from utility poles.

I've done that with a chainsaw, but not my table saw. Looks like you nailed it dead center.

It is an older blade so no loss. I never noticed anything during the cut. Considering it's 2020 I was happy it didn't fly out and hit me.

Not much a fan of poplar but, I don't think I'd shoot one.

I'm thinking this tree wasn't so popular.

My grandmother died when I was a kid.  To help pay her medical bills, my grandfather had the woods on his farm harvested for lumber.  They had a sawmill on site.   One day, they hit a horseshoe that had been encased in a tree's crotch.   That hurt a bit.  Apparently before metal detectors.   The smell of mule manure and rotting sawdust is still engrained in my mind.

While clearing trees here before we built the house, i found out that the original 50 acres had been used for cattle - even back in the woods.   :Punched: The trees smelled like cow patties all those years later.  :o
