We've gathered up toys to send to Christian Appalachian Project headquartered in Berea KY.   They distribute to needy families in 13 states.   By my count 646 toys in addition to several boxes of books and stuffed toys.

Yeah, I know, that's a perennial problem.  A couple years ago, I made some doll beds and chairs and put some dolls with them.  Not pictured are the stuffed animals and other toys.

Several years ago, for little girls, our Lion's club made little kitchens and simple doll houses to the same scale. 

We got some totals for the furniture bank.

 

We have not had volunteer groups in since March.  But starting in June, 4 or 5 of us would go in one or two mornings a week to cut parts and assemble and repair furniture.   So far, we've made about 250 tables and 100 "cubbies".   The cubbies are a 3'x2' six compartment box that the person can use as a dresser (with supplied fabric drawer boxes), a TV stand, bathroom or kitchen pantry cabinet, nightstand, or whatever.  

 

The guys are running two trucks and will hit 1000 families coming out of homelessness and are outfitted with furniture and household goods.
