October 27, 20205 yr comment_246428 Other than the $45 version replacement anyone have a source to replace the bellows on a Hegner Multimax 2 vintage 1985? While looking at it to me it looks exactly like a CV axle boot. Have to check one I have in shop tomorrow, but a Toyota Corolla outer CV boot has specs slightly smaller than what I have and could be coerced into fitting properly, for $8. Report

My bellow is soft plastic & has been repaired with a piece of cloth and CA glue, its held up for the most part. Not being a mechanic I would have never thought of an axle boot & I think the idea is brilliant. My saw has a hole in the upper arm that the hose goes through and into the bottom of the bellow. The bellow is between the upper arm and the body of the saw, the up & down motion of the arm pumps the bellow. Would the material that the boot is made from allow you to glue a rubber patch on the ends to seal them? Report
October 27, 20205 yr comment_246468 Gunny I thought my Hegner Multimax didn't ever blow air but I had to go get it and make sure. And it is probably too old for the blo jobber thingy.. I keep a supply of old car inter tubes and that might help repair yours if you can't find something else.. You might stop at a tire store and see if they have old tubes laying in their pile of tires. May 27May 27 comment_376789 I repaired the bellows with hot glue on the outside, filling the fold, not the break. On the inside I used CA medium glue to reinforce the broken area. We’ll see how long it lasts. It does blow the dust away. Report
