I have contacted a couple wood turning clubs but with no success here in Alabama and North Florida. I'm sure its a matter of time before I do get some kind of response from them but just in case I don't I was wondering how many Alabama wood turners are here. If any of us are close may could get get some kind of meeting going.  Just putting out there! 

Bit far for me, I'm in Atlanta you are almost to Pensacola. With this Covid thing going on that may be tough to break in for the moment

Not sure this will show right but here goes . The link is to the American Association of Woodturners Resource page when looking for a club and listed is all clubs in Alabama with at the very least a webpage. I am not familiar with these clubs but most are doing online demos right now and if you join then you can ask questions and get answers.
