CBN Wheels

Featured Replies

I just received a pair of CBN wheels from Woodturners Wonders.  They sell a pair of these for $199.95.  I thought that was a pretty good price for two CBN wheels.  They have the wheels paired off with two different grits per pair.  I got 180 and 600, but there is quite a variety available.  They also offer a set of spherical washers to aid in installing the wheels and eliminating run out, $6.75 per set.  When I get them installed, and have used them a few times, I'll post my opinion, but I haven't yet read any negative reviews of CBN wheels, so I imagine I will like them.

Okay,,, what is a CBN wheel?

Cubic Boron Nitride [CBN] Grinding Wheels basic foundation is a combination of Boron and Nitrogen.

That's the science stuff.  Reality is a sharpening wheel, think upgrade from a grinder.

I got mine there also and got the washers too. It may be 4 years now not sure but my turning improved  because I had sharper tools. I am thinking he had not been selling them long when I got mine. Before that Dway was the primary source.
