Band saw tire change

It was time to change bandsaw tires, something I'd never done before. I ordered from Amazon, the tires and new blade arrived the next day. This is a 14" Jet saw. I had the saw all set up and tried to stretch the tires on the wheels. NO WAY. So I put them in hot water and tried again. Still couldn't do it. Then I boiled them for 5 minutes. I was successful after much pulling and prying. If these ever come out of the track, it will surprise me. Add a new blade, set all adjustments and it cuts easily and perfectly.

From now on I will  pay more attention to this or all other shop machines.

The Olson blade and tires cost $12 & tires $25. Reasonable?

I used same method few years back.  Took a bit as you said but they will not come off.  Never had any issue since.  Old ones were just that old, and while in Iraq for 3 yrs I had left the blade tensioned so they had a bad setting in them.

Those had to be urethane tires, and they do some work to install. But they are leagues better then the OEM rubber tires...and that does seem like a fair price.
